Wrapping it up with Sean Marchetti

After releasing his EP, The Yarra Street Project, at the beginning of this month, Sean Marchetti will be closing the show for us on July 12th at our launch event.

Singer/songwriter Sean Marchetti describes music as his salvation. It was through necessity he developed the characteristic soul/blues/pop hybrid style that now defines his sound.

Currently one of Melbourne’s most popular live music acts, Marchetti’s enviable career thus far has seen the 29 year-old play shows right across his home state; including numerous AFL functions, and supporting industry stalwarts: Jimmy Barnes, Thirsty Merc, John Stevens, James Reyne, and Missy Higgins on their respective tours.

“I was never going to pursue a solo career until my close friend and mentor Gary Pinto sent my demos to (producer) Dave Darling in LA. Within a month Dave flew over and we recorded all my originals at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne. We managed to get some of the world’s best session musicians on board too. It was very surreal to say the least.” – Sean Marchetti

Marchetti’s debut EP The Yarra Street Project, is a treasure trove of blues-infused production and layered instrumentation. Lyrically, Marchetti is a refreshingly authentic writer displaying his adeptness with words through soul-baring ballads to rhythmic party tracks. With an acoustic heart reminiscent of Jack Johnson or Ed Sheeran; Marchetti’s soulful vocals work in tandem with his guitar.

Here is a track from his EP. Don’t miss his performance this Sunday at the Evelyn Hotel playing at around 10pm.
